All Patients now have a Named GP. Any Patient wishing to know their own Named GP should ask at reception. Patients are still able to make an appointment with any doctor at the surgery.

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working in the Grange Park Surgery in the last financial year was £34,390 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 2 full time GPs and 6 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.

GP Registrar

The practice is approved for the training of fully qualified doctors who have chosen a career in general practice. Occasionally we may ask if you would allow your consultation to be recorded or witnessed by another doctor. This is an essential part of their training and we appreciate your cooperation, however we also appreciate that this may be unacceptable at certain times and we will respect your decision to decline.

Well woman/man checks are available by appointment. In addition they provide a service to review asthma and diabetic patients. Appointments are made at reception. They will also help with first aid and minor injuries and illnesses. However, if you feel you might need an X-ray following an injury it would be advisable to attend the minor injuries unit at Wharfedale General Hospital, Otley

The Health Care Assistant can take blood tests, blood pressure, ECGs and conduct new patient health checks. She is available between Monday - Friday.

Practice Counsellor

We have a Practice Counselling Service within our practice offering up to 8 sessions. Counselling gives you the opportunity to talk about matters which are worrying or distressing you in a completely confidential setting. Sessions last an hour and are generally weekly at an agreed time. There may be a waiting list but you will be contacted as soon as there is a vacancy. Please speak to your G.P.if you feel this service may be of some benefit to you.  At the moment, our practice counsellor has quite a waiting list, you can also self referto My Wellbeing College by emailing them or by phoning them directly.  Further information please visit, www.bmywellbeingcollege.nhs.uk.

We have a physiotherapist on a Friday afternoon.  He provides a 30 minute assessment and initial treatment session for symptoms such as muscle and joint pains (including arthritis).  You do not need a referral from the GP.  To book an appointment please speak to reception.

Social Prescriber

Social prescriber, Fiona has joined our team on a Friday afternoon and offers 1 hour sessions and 30 minute follow up appointments of phone calls, to support with general well-being. Her remit is very broad.  She is here to offer a service to patients who may need help with their general well-being rather than a specific medical problem, or who may just need to get out of the house or want someone to talk to.  Her role is to listen to people to find out a bit about them and discover what areas they may need support in.  Fiona works with local charities as well as the NHS.  To book an appointment please speak to reception.

Other services we offer are:

Drug and Alcohol

New Direction Drug and Alcohol Service has returned to Grange Park Surgery.  If you would like to cut down on your alcohol intake or you have health concerns and have been advised to reduce the amount of alcohol intake, or if you have a drug addiction, you can self refer to this service.  This provider can access complimentary therapies to assist where appropriate.   They offer 30 minute appointments and follow up at the surgery.  You do not need to be referred by a GP.  To book an appointment, please speak to reception.
